
A Waco native and African American World War II hero will be immortalized on a stamp.
Doris Miller is 1 of 4 distinguished Navy sailors featured on the 44- cent stamp. The stamps go on sale Friday . On December 7th, 1941 Miller manned a machine gun on the USS Virginia during Pearl Harbor and became one of the first hero's of World War II.
The dedication ceremony took place Thursday at the United States Navy Memorial in washington, D.C.
