Would an extra $250 dollars help you afford a new washing machine?
You've heard of Cash for Clunkers, now it's cash for appliances.
Texans can cash in on $23 million in rebates through the Federal Stimulus Appliance Rebate Program.
The program includes Energy Star certified refrigerators, freezers, room air conditioners, central air conditioners, heat pumps, water heaters, washing machines and dishwashers.
State Comptroller Susan Combs say, "An additional $75 recycling rebate will go to consumers who buy an eligible appliance and recycle the same type of functional old appliance."
To qualify, you have reserve a rebate application, then make the actual purchase from April 16th and April 25th.
Rebate applications can be reserved online or through a toll-free number about two weeks before April 16th.
Texans are limited to two appliance and two recycling rebates per household.
