EVANSVILLE, Ind. (AP) - Three members of the University of Evansville's physical therapy faculty will work with a team of researchers from a U.S. Army-Baylor University program in Texas on injury prevention.
The researchers recently were awarded a $240,000 grant to use technology to help them identify U.S. soldiers most susceptible to injury. They'll also recommend exercises to the soldiers to help reduce their injury risk.
The group plans to begin this testing in San Antonio later this year, after refining their procedure with athletes in Evansville.
They plan to create a system where soldiers can swipe an identification card, go through the test and get computer-generated results. They would be able to learn their likelihood of injury and preventative exercises.
