The Texas A&M University Student Senate says its not for, or against, in-state tuition for illegal immigrants right now.
They deferred action on the issue late Tuesday night, sending the bill back to its external affairs committee.
Those for the bill say it isn't fair to offer in-state tuition to those in the country illegally, but those against the bill say the issue is an immigration issue, not a financial one.
Under a 2001 state law, illegal immigrant residents of Texas qualified for in-state tuition at Texas state universities.
